Hi, my name is Joanne. I look forward to listening to your story and supporting you towards your goals. I am a Master’s level Registered Social Worker with 15 years of counselling experience in the mental health field. Whether you have complex mental health and substance use issues or are struggling with mild depression and anxiety/life transition issues, I am here to listen and help you move forward towards change. In my practice I am strengths-based and trauma-informed, offering individuals and couples a safe, supportive, inclusive and culturally sensitive space. I have extensive experience in working in:

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I practice in a holistic, integrative way, customized to help you meet your goals and find solutions.
Meeting with a counsellor for the first time can be frightening. I believe that all people deserve dignity, choice, and autonomy and see you as the expert on your own life. My role is to offer you skills to take control of your health. I will work with you to develop healing, self-compassion, self-worth and empowerment.
